Fox was founded in Lake Worth Florida by Ted James in 1968. In 1976 Ted had moved full time to Hatteras Island and built the exsisting building where Fox is at today. Since then it has been expanded 3 thees into the current space it is today. Ted owned and operated Fox until his sudden passing in the summer of 2004. Fox is still family owned and operated keeping Fox's reputation as the core windsurf/surf shop on Hatteras Island. Fox is still dedicated to customer service and top quality gear. Fox started out as the premier surf shop on the outer banks but evolved into the best windsurf shop as windsurfing boomed through the late 80's and 90's. In the last few years the surf industry is at an all time high and Fox has gone back to it's roots without sacrificing it's place in the windsurf industry. We now have a Board Room specifically devoted to high performance surfboards from the best brands in the business. Stocking between 100-200 boards at all times from brands such as Lost, Placebo, Chilli, MR, and our own brand of custom polyester and Flexlite boards, Fox has a board for just about everyone. We have also created the Windsurf Room with all the latest gear from Ezzy, Powerex, HPL, Dakine, and Kinetic Sailboards. With a full line of demo boards from Kinetic and a full line of demo sails from Ezzy, we are committed to getting you on the best equipment available.
